We want to understand how people find this experiment and what they find useful.

Aggregate traffic

We host the site on Cloudflare and count page visits by day, page, country, referring website, device category, and campaign tags. Our traffic database does not store IP addresses, browser fingerprints, full referrer URLs, names, or email addresses. These are visit counts, not identified people or unique-user counts. Aggregate rows are retained for up to 90 days and removed by the daily monitoring process.

Cloudflare necessarily processes network information to deliver and protect the site. Operational error logs and sampled traces are enabled for reliability; they are separate from our aggregate traffic database. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is not enabled yet. When connected, it will load only after you choose “Allow analytics,” and will measure campaign attribution, engagement, devices, approximate geography, and returning browsers. Advertising signals and advertising personalization will remain disabled.

You can change your choice using “Analytics preferences” in the footer when Google Analytics is enabled. We store that choice in your browser for six months. Declining does not affect access to the site. Global Privacy Control or a Do Not Track preference disables our optional analytics and our aggregate visit beacon.

Links and sources

Portraits are served from our saved, attributed image collection. Following an external link shares ordinary connection information with that website and is subject to its privacy practices. We do not collect tips or offer user accounts.
